Finishing & Setting Powder : Wowder | Glossier
A finishing powder that cuts shine, blurs the appearance of pores, and sets makeup.
The perfect matte-not-flat finish.
WHY IT’S SPECIAL:
- Control your level of dewiness with this instant blotting powder
- Won’t leave a chalky film, cake into fine lines, flatten skin’s texture, or show up in flash photos
- Apply all over or just in the areas you want to shine less using the angelically soft Wowder Brush
Finishing can refer to:
- Finishing (whisky), a whisky making method that involves aging of multiple casks
- Finishing (bookbinding), the process of embellishing a book

Glossier is a beauty brand founded by Emily Weiss in 2014. It started as an online-only company, building on the popularity of the beauty blog "Into the Gloss". Glossier was one of the first direct-to-consumer beauty companies when it launched in 2014, and has grown to over 10 retail locations in addition to global distribution in Sephora, SpaceNK, and Mecca. The brand's products span skincare, makeup, bodycare, fragrance, and merch.
A powder is a dry solid composed of many very fine particles that may flow freely when shaken or tilted. Powders are a special sub-class of granular materials, although the terms powder and granular are sometimes used to distinguish separate classes of material. In particular, powders refer to those granular materials that have the finer grain sizes, and that therefore have a greater tendency to form clumps when flowing. Granulars refer to the coarser granular materials that do not tend to form clumps except when wet.
Setting or Settings may refer to:
- A location (geography) where something is set
- Set construction in theatrical scenery
- Setting (narrative), the place and time in a work of narrative, especially fiction
- Setting up to fail a manipulative technique to engineer failure
- Stonesetting, in jewelry, when a diamond or gem is set into a frame or bed
- Campaign setting in role-playing play
- In computers and electronics, the computer configuration or options of the software or device
- Settings (Windows)
- Typesetting
- Set and setting, the context for psychedelic drug experiences
- Setting (knot), the tightening of a knot
- Musical setting, the composition of music for an existing text, usually in choral music

Just like another reviewer said, i didn’t know powder until now! Or at least one i loved! Great weightless product that reduces shine in areas you don’t want.

I have always hated the way powder sucked the life out of my face. This power doesn’t. It sets your makeup without the cakeyness. A little goes a long way. And I would definitely repurchase this product. My T-zone is pretty oily and with this powder it helps keep the oils at bay.

After struggling to pick the right powder for quite a while, I found Wowder. I have olive skin with weird, finicky undertones. Other “neutral shade” powders made me look like either a sickly ghost or a burnt cheeto – while somehow also failing to control the shine in my T-zone. I could never find a decent one until I tried the Wowder in G8-G10. Not only does this match my skin ~perfectly,~ it doesn’t leave a chalky texture behind. I added it mainly to my T-zone and it just looks like my own skin – but better. A little goes a long way and the “trampoline” dispenser on top keeps prevents spills and waste. I think I found a new favorite makeup brand!

I have always had issues with finding makeup that doesn’t react badly with my skin type. Powders I’ve used in the past have made my makeup break apart or ended up being too dark because it wasn’t light enough and made my face look weird. I’ve also tried powders that had ‘grains’ too big which just made my face look like sand. This Glossier powder actually gives me what I want: it’s light enough where it doesn’t interfere with my concealer, tinted sunscreen, and blush, and it actually keeps my makeup set and in place my whole work day. My skin also doesn’t break out because the powder is so light (the stretch concealer is light too!). Definitely recommend for those who want a staple/everyday powder and don’t feel the need to buy 10 different ones. I love that I can count on Glossier for minimalist makeup that actually works and makes me feel good 🙂

I do not wear much makeup at all but when I do, I use the glossier tint and finish with this powder. I only need to do one sweep and it leaves a perfect matte finish without making me look dry. I always get compliments when I wear their makeup!

VERY finely milled, no sparkle or glitter just a very subtle and natural GLOW. Between this and the Future Dew ( used together and sparingly) This creates a look that several people have told me is a enviable glow. Not a shine but an almost otherworldly like glow to the skin. These are as a result my brand new desert island products! For reference, I have blonde hair, blue eyes , fair ( g11) skin with freckles.

I use this finishing powder over the perfect skin tint and concealer to get a natural yet covered everyday look. I like it a lot! As a very fair skin redhead with dry skin, powder often makes my skin flaky or in a different darker shade than usual. The very light shade of the Wowder just does the trick for me. I would love to be able to refill it though as opposed to buying another plastic container.

I got this to go with the concealer and it’s just amazing. My skin never feels dry or heavy. I really love the component too, I don’t open the case and have a powder bomb go off
