Brielle Flatform Sandal – BRIELLE
Leather hook-&-loop closure straps make this platform sandal comfy—wavy details, mixed textures, and layered colors make it cool.
Brielle (pronounced [ˈbrilə] ), also called Den Briel in Dutch and Brill in English, is a town and historic seaport in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland, on the north side of the island of Voorne-Putten, at the mouth of the New Maas. The former municipality covered an area of 31.14 km2 (12.02 sq mi) of which 3.59 km2 (1.39 sq mi) was water. In 2021 its population was 17,439.
The former municipality of Brielle also included the communities of Vierpolders and Zwartewaal.
On 1 January 2023, the municipality of Brielle merged with Hellevoetsluis and Westvoorne into the new municipality of Voorne aan Zee.
Brielle, New Jersey was named after Brielle by the Dutch colonists of New Jersey, originally New Netherland.
Sandals are an open type of shoe, consisting of a sole held to the wearer's foot by straps going over the instep and around the ankle. Sandals can also have a heel. While the distinction between sandals and other types of footwear can sometimes be blurry (as in the case of huaraches—the woven leather footwear seen in Mexico, and peep-toe pumps), the common understanding is that a sandal leaves all or most of the foot exposed. People may choose to wear sandals for several reasons, among them comfort in warm weather, economy (sandals tend to require less material than shoes and are usually easier to construct), and as a fashion choice. Usually, people wear sandals in warmer climates or during warmer parts of the year in order to keep their feet cool and dry. The risk of developing athlete's foot is lower than with enclosed shoes, and the wearing of sandals may be part of the treatment regimen for such an infection.

I ordered the “last season” cow print Brielle’s in an 8.5 knowing that they might be a half size too big (Vionic tends to run just a tad large) and they are the tiniest big too big but with the straps they stay on just fine. I could have done an 8 but then they may have been a tad too small. These are very comfortable and stylish. They are absolutely heavy and clunky; plus they don’t flex AT ALL. But I’m totally ok with that to get the arch support I need. However, they don’t make your feet look big in a mirror which I would’ve guessed that they would.

I have been eye-balling the cow-print platforms since they were released, but since I am a “broke college kid” and worry about hurting myself in heels, I could never bring myself to bite the bullet. To my disbelief, they went on sale right before my birthday, so I just had to get them as a birthday gift for myself! I absolutely love them! I have super flat feet, and I will often roll my ankle inward in heels/platform shoes because cheaper brands do not have arch support. With these, my ankle feels very supportive, and I have yet to twist my ankle (even after a wearing them all Spring Break while visiting family in Arizona). Further, my arches and back to not hurt even after wearing these all day, unlike other shoe brands I own. If you’re on the fence, you have my encouragement to buy the dang shoes!!

My favourite brand! Comfortable, beautiful stylish footwear. But this model is quite heavyweight.

Purchased these in white and they have become one of my favorite Vionics. Incredible support and durability. I vote for offering more solid colors.
