A concealer or color corrector is a type of cosmetic that is used to mask imperfections on the skin. These imperfections can include dark circles under the eyes, blemishes, and hyperpigmentation. Concealer is similar to, and can be used in conjunction with foundation, a lighter cosmetic that is used to even out the skin tone. Both concealer and foundation are typically used to make skin appear smoother and more uniform in color. These two types of cosmetics differ in that concealers tend to be more heavily pigmented, though concealer and foundation are both available in a wide range of colors and opacities.
To use a concealer, an individual typically applies a small amount of product to the area of the skin that they want to cover. The concealer is then blended into the surrounding skin using a brush, sponge, or the fingertips to create a seamless finish. Concealers can be applied before or after foundation, depending on the desired effect. Applying concealer before foundation can help to create a more even canvas for the foundation, while applying concealer after foundation can help to touch up any areas that still require coverage.
Concealers comes in different forms such as liquid, cream, stick, pencil, and powder. The first commercially available concealer was Max Factor's Erace, launched in 1954. Camouflage makeup is a much heavier pigmented form of concealer. It is used to cover serious skin discolorations such as birthmarks, scars and vitiligo.
Concealer is available in a variety of shades. When picking a concealer, people tend to choose one or two shades lighter than their skin tone to better hide their blemishes and dark circles under the eye; once blended out and then set with a powder, it will be smooth and resemble more youthful skin. Some colors are intended to look like a natural skin tone, while others are meant to cancel out the color of a particular type of blemish. Concealers with yellow undertones are used to hide dark circles. Green and blue can counteract red patches on the skin, such as those caused by pimples, broken veins, or rosacea. A purple-tinted concealer can make sallow (yellowish) complexions look brighter.

I’m fifteen and do not really do makeup on a daily basis. I don’t have severe dark circles to cover but I trusted glossier for their skincare so I tought that i would also trust them for my first makeup basics like concealer. First of all, I think the shade i choose was perfect; at first i tought it wouldn’t but once you apply it to your skin it magically melt into your skin to create a your skin but better effect. It is a pretty light coverage tho but I found the applying steps so easy even for a beginner or someone that is not that good at makeup. I did find that it creased a little but maybe because i only used it without any before or after products.

I’ve been using the stretch concealer for years and it is truly the best I have found on the market. I use it primarily for under my eyes, but also will use it for occasional blemishes. It blends perfectly and lasts forever!

I mean it when I say this is the only concealer that works for me. I have combination skin and most concealers and up looking like straight oil on my face at the end of the day. I think it’s because of the consistency that allows it to look so great at the end of the day!

I received Stretch concealer as a sampler. At 67 I’ve tried a few concealers Stretch is truly the best to hide under eye discoloration, bags and lines. Its great for all discolorations on your face and neck. I hooked! I recommend Stretch to anyone.

Since May 2021, I’ve been updating my make up look and taking better care of my skin. When I say I have tried countless under eye concealers – I’m not exaggerating. I nearly gave up and then thought, “ok, ONE MORE TIME…I’ll try a concealer.” I have dark circles, and lots of texture/slash wrinkles. How to cover up AND not accentuate wrinkles? Impossible except for this concealer. My texture wrinkles are minimized and the dark circles are much nicer looking. No, it’s not full coverage – but I don’t want that “make up” look..I just want to look “mysteriously” my best. This concealer is IT.

I’ve been using this concealer for a couple of months and it’s absolute sorcery!!!! I use my fingers to apply and watch in awe as it quite literally fills in my pores. They truly disappear under this. I’ve received so many compliments on how perfect my skin is when I wear this and it’s all thanks to stretch. If you’re thinking about getting this, just do it.
