The chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus) is a large and round short-winged bird, domesticated from the red junglefowl of Southeast Asia around 8,000 years ago. Most chickens are raised for food, providing meat and eggs; others are kept as pets or for cockfighting.

Pride is a human secondary emotion that constitutes a sense of satisfaction with one's identity, performance, or accomplishments. It may be considered the opposite of shame or of humility, and, depending on context, may be considered a virtue or vice. Pride may refer to a content sense of attachment toward one's own or another's choices and actions, or one's belonging to a group of people.
