A cleaner, cleanser or cleaning operative is a type of industrial or domestic worker who is tasked with cleaning a space. A janitor (US and Canada), also known as a custodian, porter or caretaker, is a person who cleans and might also carry out maintenance and security duties. A similar position, but usually with more managerial duties and not including cleaning, is occupied by building superintendents in the United States and Canada and by site managers in schools in the United Kingdom.

According to the Cambridge English dictionary a "cleaner" is "a person whose job is to clean houses, offices, public places, etc.:"; the Collins dictionary states that: "A cleaner is someone who is employed to clean the rooms and furniture inside a building." However, a cleaner does not always have to be employed and perform work for pay, such as in the case of volunteer work or community service. "Cleaner" may also refer to cleaning agents e.g. oven cleaner, or devices used for cleaning, e.g. vacuum cleaner.

Cleaning operatives may specialize in cleaning particular things or places, such as window cleaners, housekeepers, janitors, crime scene cleaners and so on. Cleaning operatives often work when the people who otherwise occupy the space are not around. They may clean offices at night or houses during the workday.

A model is an informative representation of an object, person, or system. The term originally denoted the plans of a building in late 16th-century English, and derived via French and Italian ultimately from Latin modulus, a measure.

Models can be divided into physical models (e.g. a ship model or a fashion model) and abstract models (e.g. a set of mathematical equations describing the workings of the atmosphere for the purpose of weather forecasting). Abstract or conceptual models are central to philosophy of science.

In scholarly research and applied science, a model should not be confused with a theory: while a model seeks only to represent reality with the purpose of better understanding or predicting the world, a theory is more ambitious in that it claims to be an explanation of reality.

A mop (such as a floor mop) is a mass or bundle of coarse strings or yarn, etc., or a piece of cloth, sponge or other absorbent material, attached to a pole or stick. It is used to soak up liquid, for cleaning floors and other surfaces, to mop up dust, or for other cleaning purposes.

An official is someone who holds an office (function or mandate, regardless of whether it carries an actual working space with it) in an organization or government and participates in the exercise of authority (either their own or that of their superior or employer, public or legally private). An elected official is a person who is an official by virtue of an election. Officials may also be appointed ex officio (by virtue of another office, often in a specified capacity, such as presiding, advisory, secretary). Some official positions may be inherited. A person who currently holds an office is referred to as an incumbent. Something "official" refers to something endowed with governmental or other authoritative recognition or mandate, as in official language, official gazette, or official scorer.

Roborock (also known as Beijing Roborock Technology Co. Ltd.; Chinese: 北京石頭世紀科技有限公司) is a Chinese consumer goods company known for its robotic sweeping and mopping devices and handheld cordless stick vacuums. Xiaomi played a key role in the company's founding.

A vacuum (pl.: vacuums or vacua) is space devoid of matter. The word is derived from the Latin adjective vacuus (neuter vacuum) meaning "vacant" or "void". An approximation to such vacuum is a region with a gaseous pressure much less than atmospheric pressure. Physicists often discuss ideal test results that would occur in a perfect vacuum, which they sometimes simply call "vacuum" or free space, and use the term partial vacuum to refer to an actual imperfect vacuum as one might have in a laboratory or in space. In engineering and applied physics on the other hand, vacuum refers to any space in which the pressure is considerably lower than atmospheric pressure. The Latin term in vacuo is used to describe an object that is surrounded by a vacuum.

The quality of a partial vacuum refers to how closely it approaches a perfect vacuum. Other things equal, lower gas pressure means higher-quality vacuum. For example, a typical vacuum cleaner produces enough suction to reduce air pressure by around 20%. But higher-quality vacuums are possible. Ultra-high vacuum chambers, common in chemistry, physics, and engineering, operate below one trillionth (10−12) of atmospheric pressure (100 nPa), and can reach around 100 particles/cm3. Outer space is an even higher-quality vacuum, with the equivalent of just a few hydrogen atoms per cubic meter on average in intergalactic space.

Vacuum has been a frequent topic of philosophical debate since ancient Greek times, but was not studied empirically until the 17th century. Clemens Timpler (1605) philosophized about the experimental possibility of producing a vacuum in small tubes. Evangelista Torricelli produced the first laboratory vacuum in 1643, and other experimental techniques were developed as a result of his theories of atmospheric pressure. A Torricellian vacuum is created by filling with mercury a tall glass container closed at one end, and then inverting it in a bowl to contain the mercury (see below).

Vacuum became a valuable industrial tool in the 20th century with the introduction of incandescent light bulbs and vacuum tubes, and a wide array of vacuum technologies has since become available. The development of human spaceflight has raised interest in the impact of vacuum on human health, and on life forms in general.

Xiaomi Corporation (; Chinese: 小米集团), commonly known as Xiaomi, is a Chinese designer and manufacturer of consumer electronics and related software, home appliances, automobiles and household hardware, with headquarters in Beijing, China. It is the second-largest manufacturer of smartphones in the world, behind Samsung, most of which run on the MIUI (now Xiaomi HyperOS) operating system. The company is ranked 338th and is the youngest company on the Fortune Global 500.

Xiaomi was founded in 2010 in Beijing by Lei Jun along with six associates. Lei had founded Kingsoft as well as Joyo.com, the latter of which he sold to Amazon for $75 million in 2004. In August 2011, Xiaomi released its first smartphone and, by 2014, it had the largest market share of smartphones sold in China. Initially the company only sold its products online; however, it later opened brick and mortar stores. By 2015, it was developing a wide range of consumer electronics. In 2020, the company sold 149.4 million smartphones and its MIUI (now Xiaomi HyperOS) mobile operating system has over 500 million monthly active users. As of August 2024, Xiaomi is the second-largest seller of smartphones worldwide, with a market share of about 12%, according to Counterpoint. Its presence led some people to call Xiaomi the "Apple of China". It has come up with its own range of wearable items. It also is a major manufacturer of appliances including televisions, flashlights, unmanned aerial vehicles, and air purifiers using its Internet of things and Xiaomi Smart Home product ecosystems.

Xiaomi keeps its prices close to its manufacturing costs and bill of materials costs by keeping most of its products in the market for 18 months, longer than most smartphone companies. The company also uses inventory optimization and flash sales to keep its inventory low.

Super happy with this robovac. It works on auto and we can set schedules and tell it where to go and not to go.

Have pets it’s amazing how much it picks up. I didnt know I need to vacuum each day but now I don’t but the roborock does!

We also have a new Dyson but this is great and makes our weekly clean a breeze.

Im amazed every time i empty the bin exactly what this picks up…..its set to mop and vacuum my floors at 6am every morning…its like my happy alarm clock. I dont think my floors have EVER been this clean!

I have polished boards and rugs throughout the house and running the Roborock for the first time it created the map accurately. It correctly identified all the different floor surfaces and cleans as per surface each time now. It’s very easy to use the app to divide areas within the home and names zones etc. so I can ensure that it doesn’t wander into heavily cabled areas, or my junk room for instance. I have a 2 bdr unit and it can clean the whole thing without having to recharge, even if I set it to do 3x clean. I can just set a schedule, off it hops and the floors are cleaner than they’ve ever been! Highly recommend.

House is certainly a lot cleaner but it takes all day. Roborock needs to recharge twice during a 3/4 house clean. Like having the mop as the tiled floor is so much cleaner.

I had been sceptical about using a robotic vacuum but asked a few friends and the Roborock was highly recommended.

It was easy to unpack and put together and mapping the apartment was also a breeze.

I must say it is the best money I have spent in a long time. The Roborock picks up my furbaby’s hair with ease and my apartment has never looked this clean. I use it regularly and the ability to clean specific rooms is great. It has also prompted me to cull my home so j don’t have things on the floor meaning I can set the Roborock to work while I am at work.

    Fabulous product!!!

I was sceptical but this vacuum genuinely is the best purchase we have made for our home!! Highly recommend. Cleans the floor so well and saves us so much time!

Bought this after a recommendation from a mate and it is, hands down, one of the best purchases I’ve made. I have a large tiled area downstairs with a few rugs and regular low-pile carpet upstairs, and it does them both really well. When moving it between the ground floor and 1st storey I just move it with the base station and it figures out its location pretty quickly. I also have a sunken TV room and do the same thing in there.

I think the mop function works very well also and you can definitely feel the difference when you walk on it with bare feet. You need to be realistic – it’s good for regular, general mopping but if you have had a party and the floor is very dirty then you’d be best to break out a real mop instead. You need to also remember to remove the mop head and rinse/wring it out each time, but still much easier than regular manual mopping.

One key advantage is that it can fit into places that normally don’t get cleaned, like under cupboards, couches and the oven. It navigates around obstacles & drops very well.

I wasn’t expecting just how much dust it could pick up on the carpet. This is probably because it runs slower and more overlapping than the haphazard way I usually vacuum.

I haven’t had many issues with it so far – there was one time when the water tank leaked a little but that was only one time. I bought a spares kit off eBay for $30 but haven’t needed anything yet. It can get a little messy cleaning out the dust bin into the trash, but that’s standard for a bagless vacuum. The app could be a little better, with the latest update making room names & mop/vac settings illegible from the map view.

I love it so much, guys. I can’t live without it because it helps me to clean and mop the house even I can do it at night too. It doesn’t make noise compared with the other products. Saving my lifetime as I am working long hours especially, I’m working with young children I feel exhausted all the time after work, and I don’t want to do anything, and I want to save my time for the other things, and I don’t have to worry the house Will get dirty. At least I have my best friend “Roborock S7” to help me now ♥️. It looks really cool and very smart. It was a fantastic vacuum Mop and cleaner. I’m so happy with my purchase. I love watching it. At least it assists me to clean under the bed and table now. Few these spots I had to bench down to sweep and mop before I don’t like it and it hurt my back so much. I’m very happy now.

It is a good product but the only downside is the mop. It leaves a line when it mops.
I wish it worked better for the price.
The mop function needs to be better! It just drags water in a straight line.

I have tile flooring throughout with the odd low pile mat around the house. I love my Roborock S7 which has firmly placed itself as my favourite household aid. As it is quieter than others I have tried, I have it programmed to clean every morning before I get up, ensuring a clean floor to start my day. Its low profile enables it to get under all the furniture and it navigates closely around items that are directly on the floor. The large onboard water tank is enough to do my entire floor plan leaving my tiles as shiny as they are clean. No more little paw prints on the tile surfaces. I just do a weekly hot mop by hand for a deeper clean. Having long hair and living with two dogs and birds means a daily vacuum is essential and my Robo takes care of it all in short order – even those wispy-light feathers! I have tried many of these types of vacuums in the past and this is the only one that reliably does the job as I hoped it would be able to. Very satisfied with my purchase and can highly recommend.

I am so impressed with how well this actually works. It mesmerisingly navigates differences in height of floors, gently notices leaves hanging from my indoor plants and moves around them.

I bought 2 Roborock S7 robotic vacuums and I love it almost as much as my kids. It does an exceptional job every single time and is used every day. The mapping function is fantastic and I don’t know how I lived so long without Jarvis (name for upstairs vac) and Samuel L Vacson (name of downstairs vac) for so long.

I love love love my Roborock and have told everyone I know how fantastic it is.

Would recommend to everyone to buy one now

We have high gloss floorboards and the wheel at the front is leaving scratch lines on my boards, was very happy with it until now. Now it’s going to be an expensive vacuum for carpet only!!

    wooden and carpet
    Great product
easy to set up. Excellent app linking. Accurate mapping.
    Great for pet hair
Only used it for 2 weeks and so far doing a fantastic job. Haven’t used the mop function yet.

Does vacuum job great. Mopping not so much! Mopping leaves too many streaks to be truly useful. The mapping of the house was fascinating to watch and was truly awesome. Even so on occasion it still misses the odd section. Very odd!
Overall very happy with the vacuuming part.

Used on both tile and heavy and light carpet.
Found the quiet mode to be more than sufficient on tiles and hard floor.
The robot also auto detects carpet, so just set the house to quiet and it will ramp up when it gets to the harder stuff.
First few times I did 1 carpeted room at a time, and the amount of carpet fibres and dust it extracted was amazing. I would have had to work so hard with my basic $100 vacuum or stick Dyson.
Bought the plus version (with auto empty -bagless) it’s awesome too. You can set the auto empty times so it won’t wake you up if you do a night or early morning vacuum, like I do.

Mopping is good too. It has a deep mop which turns it’s vacuum off. This allows it to have more battery to make 2 – 3 times as many passes. I use hot water and a soaked mop pad. Seems to work well. I did want to get the Omni X1 for its rotary mop heads, but wasn’t available when I was purchasing. Not unhappy with this one though.

Downsides – has difficulty vacuuming and mopping about 1-2 cm from the edge of walls, and corners. Pretty sure all have this issue.
Have had it get a cord and fail early on a clean once. It calls for help, but you need to be home to fix it obviously.
I did also move some furniture and it thought it was in a different room. It also calls for help. Easy fix.

It was expensive, but from all my research (Vacuum wars, redit, etc), and with its functionality, it’s the best. Would upgrade to the S7MaxV for the improved obstacle avoidance when it’s out!

You really do not notice how much they pick up until you look into the dustbin. I’m consistently surprised at home much this thing gets. Perfect for our floors with pet hair and all the little dust particles.

Hubby and I bought our roborock in Dec 2021 from Godfreys. She has been used every 2nd day (mopping and vacuming) for almost 5 months now with no issues other than general maintenance like wiping over her sensors.

We DO NOT expect this machine to function as a full on vacume, but rather just to pick up the daily debris and leaves etc that our little dogs walk into the house and to be a quick mopping once over. We aren’t overly messy people and don’t have kids.

    Things we love:
    – She really cleans!
    – You can set up lines and walls in the app so she doesn’t go near stairs etc (Though she does have the stairs function where she auto-senses that its a drop off and she will vacume along it but not fall off the edge- this is extremely anxiety inducing to witness lol)
    – The mopping and sweeping all happens from the same machine. Saves me having to run 2 and saves me having to vacume before i manually mop if i choose to though I haven’t needed to at all yet because the robot does such a great job for me. (we have hardwood floors and no kids)
-I love that she auto-docks herself and takes herself home when the battery gets low so that i don’t have to bother doing it and that she can run while i’m not at home.
    – I like that she ‘talks’ and tells you whats wrong if something does go wrong.
    – She does a great job on carpets, we have her set to high suction on carpets and lower on the hardwood and she actually collects all the dust and debris rather than pushing it around like our vacume does on the hardwoods.
    – I love that you can schedule it for when you’re home or not home
    – The app is pretty user friendly and the whole thing gets up and running in no time when you buy her new.
    – I LOVE that she is so tiny she can get under the oven and under the bed. Places that my vacume just can’t get. The overall result is a much less dusty home
    – I like that you can see what she’s up to or where she’s stuck on the app even when you’re not home.
    – I love that she auto senses walls and furniture and doesn’t knock stuff over or leave scuff marks on the walls or furniture.

    Things that could be better
    – The walls and the “no go zones” are a bit hit and miss. Especially if you move furniture and she can then get in there.
    – ITS LOUD on full speed/high suction. Not nearly as loud as a regular vacume of course, but its extremely annoying when shes in the same room as you lol. (Having said that- I am an extra sensitive person and have noise rreactive ptsd so I am very likely over exadurrating how annoying it is. It really doesn’t bother my husband at all)
-I WISH it came with the auto-empty station. Ours gets full after 2 goes around our house (we have a big house though and she does every room). I often forget to empty her and a spoken reminder when the machine runs next would be nice or for a bundle deal when buying both.
-When she mops, if you have anything powdery on the floor she may leave streaks of her every pass all over your floors. But this isn’t really some thing to worry excessively about, it only happened to us because hubby left jiprock residue on the floor and then she cleaned lol.
    – She will eat ALL cords. You have to be EXTREMELY careful with phone charging cords, power cords and especially headphones, cos she WILL suck them up and get stuck and probably break them (she ate my senheizer headphones lol)
    – She will try to eat your curtains if they’re sheers and sit on the floor lol.
-The black version which we have shows dust badly on the top of her, just needs a frequent wipe down.
    – The little bin that holds the rubbish is tiny and its tedious as heck to try and empty it out completely, the housing for the filter means you can’t just remove the filter and tip out the rubbish, you need to stand there and manually prize it out of all the little nooks and crannies. Not overly annoying but i wish the whole end just opened and then it’d all slide out and into the bin with minimal handling too, the way it is now, you have to pinch the fluff and dust goes flying everywhere.

Overall though, I really love the little thing and she’s saving my back and my vacumes life. She’s extremely handy and i’ll definitely buy this brand again if/when we need to upgrade.
